Ashtanga Yoga is a practice for Everyone

A certain body type or a background in physical activity is not needed to practise asanas. You can start your Yoga journey at any age or stage in life and we welcome any enthusiast who is willing to learn – beginners, anyone recovering from injuries as well as long term practitioners.   All the students practise together, in the same room, under the guidance of the same teacher.

 The purpose of Yoga is defeated if it is non-inclusive.

Self-practice is the ensuing goal

The goal of an Ashtanga Yoga class is to cultivate self-practice. This is encouraged from day one. Self-practice helps with focus, discipline and connecting with your breath and body.

How this class is taught…

Classes are taught in the Mysore style. Each student learns the asanas  at their own pace, following the rhythm of their breath. The teacher gives individual guidance as and when required. Eventually a student can develop a practice that is unique to oneself . The asanas are learnt in a particular sequence. A new asana is started only when the student can do the previous poses with sukham (comfort) and sthiram (steadiness). Since each asana or group of asanas have a specific effect that is counterbalanced by the previous asanas, this sequential process of learning Ashtanga Yoga ensures that injuries are avoided. It also allows the practitioner to memorize the asana and gradually develop strength, stamina, flexibility and focus. In Ashtanga Yoga, movement is always synchronized with the breath. This is called Vinyasa.  Deep breathing and Vinyasa are essential in the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. It is this deep breathing that calms the mind and helps in finding a focused and meditative state during the practice. Ashtanga Yoga uses a three-pronged approach called Tristhana constituting pranayama  (deep, regulated breathing), asana (yoga posture) and drishti (focussed gaze). Tristhana enables practitioners develop steadiness and awareness of mind and body.

About Us

Yoga Sadhana, Hyderabad

Here, at Yoga Sadhana, Anuradha Ingle teaches the Mysore style of Ashtanga Yoga. This system dates back hundreds of years and is taught in the guru shishya parampara. Most of the teachings are non-theoretical and involve long term, daily practice.

About Anuradha Ingle

Anuradha Ingle began practising yoga in 2009. Since her introduction to Ashtanga Yoga by Heidi R. in 2015, Anuradha has been committed to practising with her guru, Sri Sharath Jois, every year, at his yogashala in Mysore.

In 2022, during her annual visit to Mysore, she was granted blessings by her guru, to commence teaching Ashtanga Yoga in Hyderabad. She is now the first teacher in Hyderabad, authorized by Sri Sharath Jois.

Anuradha currently teaches Mysore style classes in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad as a Level-1 (SYC, KPJAYI) authorized Ashtanga Yoga trainer.

No asana practice on full moon and new moon days.

(*Mysore style classes are one-on-one classes in a group setting. However, instructions are given individually which help build a personal practice (sadhana) that is unique to every student. All students can move at their own individual pace. This makes it easy for new students, as well as those who have been practising for a while. Led classes are practised by the students together to traditional Sanskrit count.)

Class venue : Plot 780, Road 44, Jubilee Hills. (Please call ahead of paying a visit to the venue.)

Fee :  8000/- per month

Two scholarship positions are retained every month for students who need monetary assistance.

Special note :

  • New students are requested to practise for a minimum of 1 month at the shala.

  • We encourage new students to enrol for class between the 1st and 3rd of a month.

  • Those with an on-going practice can join us at any time of the month.
